Lab Glass & The Law- 2017

Queensland

EUD's for the following items must be sent to Commisioner of Police before item is sent. No exceptions for business or account customers. Eud's are kept for 2 years, and then discarded.
 

• condenser
  -condenser means a cooling device for converting gases or
  vapours to liquid or solid form
• distillation head
  -fits on top of a reaction vessel or a vessel that serves the
  same purpose as a reaction vessel; and
  -connects to a condenser; and
  -is suitably angled to allow vapour to flow downwards
  into a collection vessel.
• heating mantle
  -a device designed or adapted to heat a
  reaction vessel or a vessel that serves the same purpose as a
  reaction vessel.
• Reaction vessel, including a reaction vessel under repair or a
  modification of a reaction vessel
  -No formal definition given. But common and reasonable sense relates this to any vessel that a reaction, (ie a change in molecular structure) of a compound that HAS taken place in. And also the technical name for an item called a Reaction Vessel, which is a flask with a large opening, that requires a lid, that contains joints.
  -My thoughts. This would mean all round and flat bottom flasks do not require an EUD, unless they are to be used to perform reactions in. ie. Steam distilltion would be acceptable, without requiring an EUD. I assume the act is refering to the actual product, called a reaction vessel. Unfortuantely, the act contains no formal defination, therefore leaving it hard to fully understand.
• rotary evaporator - self explanatory
• splash head, including a splash head under repair or parts for a splash head.
  -means an apparatus that fits between a reaction
  vessel, or a vessel that serves the same purpose as a reaction
  vessel, and a condenser and stops a heated substance
  contaminating the distillate.

New South Wales.

EUD's are required for the following items.
- unless the reciever has an account at our website, and makes payment through it, and supplies current photo ID or passport or Drivers Licence.
Eud's and Sales of the following items are stored at sciencesupply only, and are made availble to Law enforcement on request only and are kept for 2 years 
                 

• condenser - joint size b19 or greater.
• Round bottom reaction flask (capacity 500ml or greater) Condenser (joint size B19 or greater)
• Splash head
• Distillation head
• Heating mantle (capacity 500ml or greater)
• Rotary evaporator

Victoria

EUD's are required for the following items.
- unless the reciever has an account at our website, and makes payment through it, and supplies current photo ID or passport or Drivers Licence.
Eud's and Sales of the following items are stored at sciencesupply only, and are made availble to Law enforcement on request only and are kept for 2 years
   

• condenser - joint size b19 or greater.
• Round bottom reaction flask (capacity 500ml or greater)
• Condenser (joint size B19 or greater)
• Splash head
• Distillation head
• Heating mantle (capacity 500ml or greater)
• Rotary evaporator

Notes: VIC law does not offer defintions of the above items.

Western Australia

EUD's are required for the following items.
- unless the reciever has an account at our website, and makes payment through it, and supplies current photo ID or passport or Drivers Licence. A written order (sent via email) is also required if no EUD is to be filled.
Eud's and Sales of the following items are stored at sciencesupply only, and are faxed to Law enforcement and are kept for 5 years.

• condenser - joint size b19 or greater.
• Round bottom reaction flask (capacity 500ml or greater)
• Condenser (joint size B19 or greater)
• Splash head
• Heating mantle (capacity 500ml or greater)
• Rotary evaporator

Nortern Territory, ACT, TAS and South Australia
